Step back to a simpler time and embrace an authentic Murray River bush experience at the Wood Wood Caravan Park and General Store. This charming, old-school park offers a peaceful and unpretentious retreat for those looking to connect with nature and enjoy the simple pleasures of riverside life. Located right on the Murray Valley Highway between Swan Hill and Nyah, this park is a haven for fishing enthusiasts, birdwatchers, and travellers seeking a quiet, genuine country stopover. The park is set in a natural, rustic environment, with spacious sites nestled amongst native trees, providing a true sense of being away from it all. It’s the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, and watch the magnificent river sunsets paint the Mallee sky.
The main attraction is undoubtedly the mighty Murray River, which is just a short stroll from the park. This stretch of the river is renowned for its excellent fishing, with Murray Cod and Golden Perch being the prized catches. The tranquil waters are also perfect for kayaking, canoeing, or simply finding a quiet spot on the bank to read a book. The park provides the essential amenities for a comfortable stay, including powered sites, clean toilet and shower facilities, and the major convenience of having the Wood Wood General Store onsite for supplies, fuel, and friendly local advice. Its location makes it a great, quiet alternative to the busier parks in Swan Hill, while still being close enough to explore major attractions like the Pioneer Settlement.
