The Causeway Caravan Park – Absolute Waterfront Camping & Fishing

For travellers seeking a classic, no-fuss coastal getaway where the water is your backyard, The Causeway Caravan Park is a true hidden gem on the Capricorn Coast. This charming park boasts an unbeatable location with absolute waterfront sites directly on the shores of the famous Causeway Lake. It’s a place that harks back to simpler times, prioritising prime position and a relaxed atmosphere over resort-style frills. This makes it an absolute paradise for fishing enthusiasts, boaties, and anyone who loves water sports. Imagine waking up, grabbing your fishing rod, and casting a line just metres from your caravan, or launching your kayak right from the edge of the park. The calm, tidal waters of the lake are renowned for their fantastic fishing and crabbing, offering the chance to catch barramundi, mangrove jack, and mud crabs for dinner.

The park offers a range of powered and unpowered sites, catering to everyone from tent campers to those with large motorhomes. Its pet-friendly policy means your four-legged family members can join in the holiday fun. The laid-back, friendly vibe is palpable, with many visitors returning year after year to their favourite spot by the water. While the park itself is a tranquil haven, it’s also perfectly positioned for exploring the region. The beautiful sands of Kinka Beach are just across the road for a surf beach experience, and the vibrant towns of Yeppoon and Emu Park, with their array of shops, cafes, pubs, and attractions like the Yeppoon Lagoon, are only a short drive away. If you’re looking for a simple, affordable, and perfectly located base for your coastal adventure, where the focus is on the great outdoors, The Causeway Caravan Park is an outstanding choice.
