Snowy River Holiday Park

Snowy River Holiday Park is a hidden gem nestled on the banks of the iconic Snowy River in the historic village of Dalgety, New South Wales. Offering a peaceful alternative to the bustling hub of Jindabyne, this park is the perfect retreat for those seeking a genuine country escape while remaining within easy reach of the Snowy Mountains’ major attractions. Dalgety is unique for being the only town that remains on the banks of the Snowy River after the Snowy Mountains Scheme, providing visitors with a rare opportunity to connect with one of Australia’s most storied waterways in its natural state.

The park is designed to offer a relaxed atmosphere where the sound of the flowing river serves as your daily soundtrack. For nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts, the area is a paradise for bird watching, platypus spotting, and riverside strolls. The village of Dalgety itself is rich in history, featuring a heritage trail that showcases the architecture and stories of the early settlers. Because of its central location, guests can enjoy the best of both worlds: the quiet charm of a small rural community and the thrill of alpine adventures. A short, scenic drive through the Monaro plains brings you to the ski fields in winter or the high-country hiking trails in summer, making it a versatile year-round destination.

At Snowy River Holiday Park, the focus is on quality service and comfortable facilities. Whether you are arriving with a large caravan, a small tent, or looking for the convenience of a self-contained cabin, the park provides well-maintained sites with ample space to stretch out. The community atmosphere is enhanced by shared spaces where travellers can swap stories over a BBQ or simply enjoy the sunset reflecting off the river. As a pet-friendly destination, the park welcomes the whole family, ensuring no one is left behind on your Australian road trip. By choosing to stay in Dalgety, you are supporting a local community and experiencing the true heart of the Monaro region, characterised by rolling hills, ancient granite boulders, and the timeless flow of the Snowy River. It is an ideal spot to disconnect from the digital world and rediscover the simple pleasures of the Australian bush.
