Redbank Park – Jericho QLD

Redbank Park in Jericho is a shining example of outback community spirit, offering travellers a comfortable, clean, and incredibly welcoming place to rest. Nestled on the peaceful banks of the Jordan River, this spacious campground is managed by the Jericho Progress Association, and it’s clear they take immense pride in its presentation. Operating on an honesty system with a request for a donation, the park provides outstanding value and has become a must-stop location for those travelling the Capricorn Highway between Barcaldine and Alpha. The park offers a large, flat, open area with a mix of shady and sunny spots, ensuring plenty of room for even the biggest of rigs. The serene riverside setting provides a perfect backdrop for relaxing, birdwatching, or simply soaking in the tranquil atmosphere of this charming outback town.

What truly sets Redbank Park apart is the quality of its facilities, which rival those of many paid caravan parks. The amenities block is consistently praised for its cleanliness and includes flushing toilets and hot showers, which operate on a $2 coin mechanism. For self-contained travellers, there is also the convenience of a dump point and access to potable water for filling tanks. The park is pet-friendly, and the vast open space is perfect for walking the dog. As evening settles, the park often becomes a social hub, with travellers gathering to share stories under the vast, starry outback sky. The combination of excellent facilities, a beautiful location, and the warm hospitality of the Jericho community makes Redbank Park more than just a stopover; it’s a destination in its own right and a testament to what makes regional Australian towns so special.
