Moree Showground Camping – Relaxing Artesian Spas Stopover

For travellers seeking a convenient and affordable base in one of outback NSW’s most iconic towns, the Moree Showground offers a classic and practical camping experience. Located in the heart of the Gwydir Valley and famous as the home of Australian artesian spa bathing, Moree is a major agricultural and transport hub, and the showground is the perfect place to set up camp. The grounds provide vast, open, and level areas, easily accommodating all types of vehicles from the largest motorhomes to caravans and camper trailers. With a great supply of both powered and unpowered sites, it’s a popular choice for those passing through or staying a few days to soak in the therapeutic waters.

The greatest drawcard for staying at the Moree Showground is its fantastic location. You are just a short drive from the town centre and, most importantly, the world-famous Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre. After a long day on the road, there is nothing better than relaxing in the naturally hot and mineral-rich artesian water, which is said to have healing properties. The showground’s proximity to town makes it incredibly easy to access supermarkets, service centres, pubs, and clubs for supplies and meals. Beyond the spas, Moree offers a rich cultural experience with beautiful heritage buildings and a vibrant local arts scene. The well-maintained facilities at the showground, including hot showers and a dump point, ensure a comfortable stay. For a value-for-money stop that combines practicality with the unique chance to experience Moree’s famous artesian baths, the showground is an unbeatable choice.
