Marlborough Motel & Caravan Park – A Classic Aussie Pub Stay on the Bruce Highway

Strategically located on the long and often lonely stretch of the Bruce Highway between Rockhampton and Mackay, the Marlborough Motel & Caravan Park is a welcome sight for any weary traveller. This destination is the quintessential Aussie roadhouse stop, offering a friendly, no-fuss place to rest, refuel, and experience genuine country hospitality. The park provides the classic ‘pub stay’ experience, with the caravan sites located adjacent to the iconic Marlborough Hotel, the undisputed social hub of this small, historic pastoral town. It’s the perfect setup for a hassle-free overnight stop: pull in, set up your camp, and then wander over to the pub for an ice-cold beer and a generous, hearty counter meal. The park itself offers a range of spacious, grassy sites that provide a quiet retreat from the constant traffic of the main highway. A swimming pool offers a fantastic way to cool off and wash away the dust of the road, a true blessing in the Central Queensland heat. Marlborough is a town steeped in the history of the cattle industry, and a stay here gives you a real sense of the region’s heritage. While its primary role is that of a crucial stopover, it also serves as a good base for those looking to explore the nearby Sarina Range or venture into the vast grazing properties that define the landscape. For travellers who appreciate the simplicity and authenticity of a traditional country pub, a friendly welcome, and a comfortable place to rest for the night, the Marlborough Motel & Caravan Park is an essential and highly-regarded stop on any Queensland road trip.
