Discover the untamed beauty of the New South Wales Northern Tablelands at Mann River Caravan Park. Ideally nestled on the absolute waterfront of the pristine Mann River, this park offers a unique blend of rugged mountain scenery and tranquil riverside relaxation. Located in the small village of Jackadgery along the iconic Gwydir Highway, roughly halfway between Grafton and Glen Innes, the park serves as a premier gateway for travellers seeking to immerse themselves in the spectacular wilderness of the Clarence Valley. It is a sanctuary where the rhythmic flow of the river and the calling of native birdlife define the pace of your stay.
The park’s location is a nature lover’s paradise, offering direct access to one of the cleanest and most picturesque river systems in Australia. The Mann River is celebrated for its crystal-clear waters, which provide an ideal environment for swimming, kayaking, and canoeing. For anglers, the river is a legendary spot for freshwater fishing, particularly for the elusive Eastern Freshwater Cod (protected) and the hard-fighting Australian Bass. The surrounding mountains and valleys offer a dramatic backdrop, especially as the morning mist rises off the water, making it a favourite destination for photographers, birdwatchers, and those looking to disconnect from the digital world and reconnect with the Australian bush.
Being positioned at the foot of the Great Dividing Range, Mann River Caravan Park is the perfect base for exploring some of the state’s most spectacular national parks. Just a short drive away lie the Washpool and Gibraltar Range National Parks, part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia World Heritage Area. These parks offer a wealth of hiking trails, from short walks to dramatic lookouts to challenging full-day treks through ancient rainforests and over granite outcrops. After a day of exploration, guests can return to the park to enjoy a sunset over the riverbanks or gather around a crackling campfire, as the region’s exceptionally dark skies provide an incredible canvas for stargazing.
Accommodation at Mann River Caravan Park is designed to cater to the practical needs of the modern adventurer. The park is renowned for its spacious, level sites that provide plenty of room for caravans, motorhomes, and tents, many of which offer absolute river frontage. With impeccably clean facilities, a friendly community-focused atmosphere, and the convenience of an on-site general store for essential supplies and fuel, the park ensures that your stay in Jackadgery is both comfortable and authentic. Whether you are using the park as a strategic stopover on your journey across the range or as a multi-day wilderness retreat, Mann River Caravan Park delivers a quintessential regional experience defined by rivers, mountains, and genuine country hospitality.
