Wake up to breathtaking, uninterrupted views of Lake Hume and the rolling High Country hills at the Tallangatta Lakelands Caravan Park. This stunningly located park is a true gem of North East Victoria, offering a peaceful and scenic retreat right on the shores of the magnificent lake. Situated in the unique town of Tallangatta—a town that was moved in the 1950s to make way for the expansion of Lake Hume—the park provides a perfect blend of natural beauty, fascinating history, and a wealth of recreational activities. It’s an ideal destination for families, fishing enthusiasts, water sports lovers, and anyone looking to explore the beauty of the Upper Murray.
The park is celebrated for its spectacular setting and friendly, relaxed atmosphere. It offers a range of accommodation options to suit every traveller, from spacious powered and unpowered sites with prime, absolute lake frontage for caravans and tents, to comfortable, self-contained cabins. Imagine stepping out of your caravan to a panoramic vista of the water every morning. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, designed to ensure a comfortable stay. Guests can enjoy the large undercover camp kitchen and BBQ area, perfect for cooking up the day’s catch while soaking in the incredible views. As a pet-friendly park, your four-legged family members are welcome to join in the holiday fun.
The main attraction is, without a doubt, the expansive Lake Hume. With a boat ramp conveniently located within the park, it’s a paradise for boaters, water skiers, and anglers chasing the lake’s famed Murray Cod, Trout, and Redfin. The calm waters are also perfect for kayaking and swimming. Beyond the lake, the park is the perfect base for exploring the region. Take a ride or walk along the High Country Rail Trail which passes right by the park, delve into the unique history of the “town that moved,” or take a scenic drive through the picturesque surrounding valleys. For a holiday that combines spectacular scenery with endless outdoor opportunities, the Tallangatta Lakelands Caravan Park is an unforgettable destination.
