Karumba Point Holiday Tourist Park – Sunset & Fishing Hub

For those who journey to the Gulf of Carpentaria in search of its most iconic experiences, the Karumba Point Holiday & Tourist Park offers a front-row seat. Perfectly positioned on the very tip of the peninsula at Karumba Point, this park is renowned for its unparalleled views of the legendary gulf sunsets, a daily spectacle that transforms the sky and sea into a canvas of fiery colours. It is, without question, one of the most sought-after locations for travellers looking to immerse themselves in the raw beauty and fishing culture of this remote region. The park’s atmosphere is one of relaxed camaraderie, where guests gather each evening to watch the sun disappear below the horizon, often with a cold drink in hand from the famous Sunset Tavern next door.

Beyond the spectacle of the sunset, the park is a fisherman’s paradise. Its proximity to the mouth of the Norman River provides immediate access to some of the best fishing grounds in Australia. Anglers can be found casting lines from the nearby beach or launching their boats to chase Barramundi, King Salmon, and Mackerel. The park is exceptionally well-equipped to support this passion, with excellent fish cleaning facilities and ample boat parking. The accommodation options are extensive, ranging from absolute beachfront powered sites to shaded spots further back, catering to all types of travellers. A large, sparkling swimming pool, weekly entertainment during the peak season, and modern amenities ensure a comfortable stay. Staying at Karumba Point isn’t just about finding a place to camp; it’s about positioning yourself at the epicentre of everything that makes the Gulf of Carpentaria an unforgettable Australian adventure.
