Jerusalem Creek Campground 7, Your Seasonal Bush Camping Getaway at Lake Eildon

Nestled on the tranquil southern edge of Lake Eildon National Park, Jerusalem Creek Campground 7 is a fantastic seasonal destination for those seeking a tranquil and authentic bush camping experience. This free campsite, one of eight in the area, is a popular choice for its waterside location and the chance to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Victoria’s High Country. The site is set amongst tall eucalypt forests, offering ample shade and a sense of seclusion from the busier parts of the park. It’s an ideal spot for those with a tent, off-road camper trailer, or caravan who are prepared to be self-sufficient. While it is a seasonal campground, typically open during the warmer months, this ensures the tracks are protected during wetter seasons and provides a peaceful environment for visitors.
The campground serves as an excellent launchpad for a variety of outdoor activities. The proximity to Lake Eildon means you can easily go fishing for Brown Trout or Murray Cod, or enjoy a day of boating, kayaking, or swimming. On land, you’ll find a network of bushwalking trails, including the path up to The Pinnacle, which rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains. A significant advantage of camping here is the pet-friendly policy, which allows your furry friend to join the adventure, provided they are kept on a lead at all times. Although the amenities are basic with pit toilets and fire pits, it adds to the authentic bush camping feel. Remember to bring your own drinking water and firewood, as these are not provided. The serene atmosphere, combined with the convenience of being a short drive from the Eildon township, makes Campground 7 a truly memorable destination.
