Ilfracombe Caravan Park

The Ilfracombe Caravan Park is a classic and welcoming outback park that offers a true slice of Queensland’s pastoral history. Perfectly positioned in the heart of the tiny, character-filled town of Ilfracombe, this park is famously located right next door to the legendary Wellshot Hotel, one of the most iconic and awarded pubs in the outback. This prime location makes it an essential stop for travellers on the Landsborough Highway between Longreach and Barcaldine. The park itself is known for its friendly, country hospitality and provides a range of spacious powered and unpowered sites on level, grassy ground, suitable for all types of rigs from big motorhomes to tents. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, with amenities including hot showers, a laundry, and a camp kitchen, ensuring a comfortable stay. The park’s greatest asset is its walking-distance proximity to Ilfracombe’s unique attractions. Visitors can easily spend a day exploring the incredible ‘Machinery Mile’—a fascinating outdoor museum of historic station equipment that lines the highway—before heading to the Wellshot Hotel for a cold beer and a hearty meal amongst the hats and memorabilia of a bygone era. For a comfortable, convenient, and historically rich outback experience, the Ilfracombe Caravan Park is the perfect base to soak up the atmosphere of the Central West.
