Hugh Muntz Park – Beenleigh

Hugh Muntz Park in Beenleigh is a well-known and highly valued free rest area for travellers in self-contained vehicles. Managed by the Logan City Council, it provides a designated 20-hour maximum stay for caravans, motorhomes, and campervans. Its strategic location just off the M1 Pacific Motorway makes it an incredibly convenient stopover for those travelling between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. The park is set on a spacious, sealed bitumen area with marked bays, surrounded by some grass and trees. The key attraction for travellers is its excellent range of facilities, which include public toilets, a free potable water tap for filling tanks, and a public dump point, making it a perfect spot to reset before continuing a journey. The park is often busy due to its popularity and convenience, so arriving earlier in the day is recommended to secure a spot. While it is located near a major motorway and a railway line, which means some traffic noise is inevitable, most travellers find it perfectly acceptable for a short overnight stay. The park is pet-friendly and its proximity to the full suite of services in Beenleigh—including supermarkets, petrol stations, and restaurants—adds to its appeal as a practical, safe, and cost-effective rest stop.
