Located approximately 40 minutes north of Kempsey and just an hour south of Coffs Harbour, this park offers a unique and restorative escape where the lush canopy of the Way Way State Forest meets the pristine, golden sands of Grassy Head Beach. Often described as a “hidden gem” by those lucky enough to stumble upon it, Grassy Head provides a quintessential regional Australian holiday experience defined by its natural beauty, abundant birdlife, and the rhythmic sound of the Pacific Ocean. Whether you are a dedicated nature lover, a keen surfer, or a family seeking a safe and unhurried environment for the school holidays, Grassy Head Holiday Park serves as a peaceful sanctuary far removed from the faster pace of major tourist hubs.

The park is designed to facilitate a genuine connection with the outdoors while providing all the modern conveniences required for a comfortable stay. Accommodation options are diverse, catering to everything from solo backpackers in small tents to families in large, multi-room caravans or those seeking the ease of a fully self-contained bungalow. The grounds are meticulously maintained, featuring spacious sites sheltered by native eucalypts and banksias, providing ample shade during the warm summer months. Facilities on-site include a well-equipped camp kitchen, modern amenities blocks, and a popular playground for the children. For those who enjoy an off-grid feel without sacrificing essential services, the park offers free Wi-Fi and a kiosk for basic supplies, ensuring you can disconnect from the world while still having everything you need within reach.

The surrounding region of the Macleay Valley is a landscape of spectacular natural discovery. From your base at Grassy Head, you are perfectly positioned to explore the rugged headlands, enjoy the calm waters of the nearby Macleay River estuary, or embark on a scenic drive up to the Yarriabini Lookout for panoramic views of the coastline. The area is a paradise for birdwatchers, with kookaburras, sea eagles, and a variety of honeyeaters frequenting the park. We promote a philosophy of “natural immersion and leave no trace,” ensuring that the fragile coastal ecosystem remains pristine for generations to come.
