Goomeri Showgrounds Camping – Home of the Great Australian Pumpkin Roll

Located in the charming country town of Goomeri, the Goomeri Showgrounds is a fantastic and highly popular low-cost camping destination, famously known as the home of the iconic Goomeri Pumpkin Festival. This welcoming, community-run facility provides a spacious and convenient base for travellers exploring the beautiful South Burnett region. The showgrounds boast vast, flat, and shady grassy areas, with plenty of room for all types of caravans, motorhomes, and campers. It’s an ideal place to experience genuine country hospitality, especially during the last weekend in May when the whole town comes alive for a weekend of pumpkin-themed fun, culminating in the Great Australian Pumpkin Roll down Policeman’s Hill.

The amenities at the Goomeri Showgrounds are excellent for a budget-friendly camp, offering great value for a modest fee. Visitors have access to a large number of powered and unpowered sites, clean amenities blocks with toilets and hot showers, laundry facilities, and a dump point. The friendly on-site caretakers ensure the grounds are safe, clean, and well-organised. The showgrounds are perfectly located within easy walking distance of Goomeri’s heritage-listed town centre, where you can enjoy a meal at a classic country pub, browse the quaint shops, or visit the local bakery. The grounds also serve as a perfect launchpad for exploring the South Burnett wine trail around Moffatdale, fishing at the Bjelke-Petersen Dam, or simply enjoying the scenic drives through the surrounding farmland. For a fun, affordable, and well-equipped stay in a true Queensland country gem, the Goomeri Showgrounds is an unmissable stop.
