Located in a town with a profound and moving history, this spacious campground provides a peaceful and affordable base for all types of campers. The grounds feature vast, open, and level grassy areas, making it perfect for self-contained caravans, big rigs, and motorhomes looking to settle in for a few days. It’s a popular spot, renowned for its proximity to the town centre and as a launchpad for discovering Cowra’s unique story of tragedy and reconciliation.

The major advantage of camping here is the easy access to Cowra’s world-class attractions. The town is a Centre for World Peace, a status earned through its compassionate response to the tragic Cowra Breakout during WWII. The campground is the perfect base to explore this history at the beautifully maintained Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre, the Prisoner of War Camp Site, and the World Peace Bell. Beyond its history, the campground is a stone’s throw from the Lachlan River for fishing or kayaking and a short drive from the town centre with its classic pubs, clubs, and all essential services. While the camping itself is low-cost, it provides all the necessary facilities for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
