Cowley Beach Caravan Park – A Secluded Paradise for the Serious Angler

Tucked away on the pristine Cassowary Coast, Cowley Beach Caravan Park is a true hidden gem for those looking to escape the tourist trail and find an authentic tropical paradise. This council-run park is a legendary destination for serious anglers and anyone who appreciates the simple beauty of an unspoiled coastline. Offering absolute beachfront camping, the park is nestled between the rainforest-clad mountains and the calm, protected waters of the Coral Sea, with the picturesque Barnard Islands sitting just offshore. It’s a place where the main agenda is dictated by the tides, and the soundtrack is the gentle lapping of waves and the call of tropical birds. The park’s main drawcard is its incredible access to one of the region’s most productive fishing grounds. With a well-maintained boat ramp right at your doorstep, it’s a boater’s dream, providing direct access to the rich estuary systems of Liverpool Creek and the nearby creeks, as well as the offshore reefs. The area is renowned for its fantastic fishing for Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, and Fingermark, as well as its prolific crabbing. The park itself provides a relaxed, friendly, and shady base for these adventures. The facilities are clean and practical, with a great fish cleaning station to handle your catch. While it feels wonderfully remote, the towns of Innisfail and Mission Beach are just a scenic drive away. For a peaceful, back-to-nature holiday focused on fishing, boating, and pure coastal relaxation, Cowley Beach Caravan Park is an unbeatable destination.
