Embrace the ultimate lakeside getaway at Coopers Point Boat Camp, a beautiful and accessible waterside campground within the stunning Lake Eildon National Park. Perfectly suited for boaties and paddle-craft enthusiasts, this designated campsite offers a fantastic opportunity to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the lake without needing to venture to its most remote corners. Accessible primarily by water, Coopers Point provides a serene setting where you can pull your boat right up to the shore, set up your tent on a grassy flat, and enjoy immediate access to everything this iconic waterway has to offer.
The campground is situated on a scenic peninsula, offering lovely views across the main arm of the lake. It’s an ideal spot for a wide range of activities. Anglers can try their luck catching Murray cod, golden perch, and redfin right from the campsite, while families will love the easy access to the water for swimming and paddling on calm days. For those with a ski boat, the broad, open waters are perfect for a day of water skiing and wakeboarding. The surrounding eucalypt forest is classic Victorian high country, home to kangaroos, wallabies, and an abundance of birdlife, providing a peaceful natural soundtrack to your stay.
As a designated Parks Victoria campground, Coopers Point provides basic facilities, including a non-flush toilet, but it largely operates on a self-sufficient basis. Campers must book their site in advance and bring all their own supplies, most importantly drinking water and firewood. A strict ‘leave no trace’ policy is in place to protect the pristine environment, meaning all rubbish must be taken with you. Its relative proximity to the Eildon township and Fraser Camping Area makes it a convenient yet secluded choice, striking a perfect balance for a memorable boat-in camping adventure.
