Buckenderra Holiday Village

Escape to the pristine shores of Lake Eucumbene at Buckenderra Holiday Village, a premier destination for anglers, families, and nature enthusiasts in the Snowy Mountains region of New South Wales. Situated on over 100 acres of expansive bushland with kilometres of direct lake frontage, this holiday village offers a tranquil retreat suitable for all seasons. Whether you are seeking a summer watersports adventure, a serious trout fishing expedition, or a winter base for exploring the nearby ski fields, Buckenderra provides the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern convenience.

The park is renowned for its exceptional facilities and spacious layout. Campers can choose from grassy powered and unpowered sites that offer ample room for large caravans, RVs, and tents, all while enjoying stunning views of the lake and surrounding high country. For those preferring a roof over their heads, the village features a range of accommodation options, including fully self-contained cottages and deluxe cabins that ensure a comfortable stay even during the crisp alpine winters. The on-site amenities are meticulously maintained, ensuring a clean and pleasant experience for all guests.

Fishing is the major drawcard here, with Lake Eucumbene widely considered one of the best trout fishing locations in Australia. The park features its own private boat ramp, making it effortless to launch your vessel for a day of trolling or fly fishing. If you don’t have a boat, the extensive shoreline offers plenty of secluded spots to cast a line. Beyond fishing, the lake is ideal for swimming, water skiing, and sailing during the warmer months. The wide-open spaces and safe environment make it a haven for children, who can explore the playground or enjoy a game of tennis on the park’s court.

Convenience is key at Buckenderra. The on-site kiosk is well-stocked with essentials, including fuel, gas refills, ice, and basic groceries, saving you the drive into town. Located roughly halfway between Cooma and Adaminaby, the village serves as an excellent central hub for exploring the wider Snowy Monaro region. You are within easy reach of the Yarrangobilly Caves, the Kosciuszko National Park, and the historic townships that dot the landscape. Whether you are looking to relax by a campfire under a star-filled sky or embark on an alpine adventure, Buckenderra Holiday Village offers an unforgettable Australian high country experience.
