The Heart of the Outback: Friendly, Central, and rich in History
Brewarrina Caravan Park (also known as Brewarrina Caravan & Camping Park) offers a warm, authentic outback welcome right in the centre of town. Located just a short stroll from the majestic Barwon River and the National Heritage-listed Aboriginal Fish Traps, this council-owned, locally operated park is the perfect base for exploring one of New South Wales’ most historically significant regions. Unlike remote bush camps, staying here means you are in the hub of the community, with easy access to shops, the Visitor Information Centre, and the local pool.
The park provides a range of accommodation options to suit every traveller, from shady powered and unpowered sites for caravans and campers to comfortable cabins for those seeking a roof over their heads. The atmosphere is famously friendly, with managers who are passionate about the local area and often host campfire cook-ups and impromptu music sessions, creating a real sense of community among guests. The grounds are grassy and well-maintained, offering a pleasant respite from the red dust of the outback roads.
One of the park’s biggest assets is its location right next door to the Brewarrina Memorial Swimming Pool and Splash Park, which is free for patrons—a godsend during the warmer months. The amenities are clean and tidy, featuring hot showers and a coin-operated laundry. Whether you are fishing in the Barwon, learning about Indigenous culture at the Cultural Museum, or simply passing through on the Kamilaroi Highway, Brewarrina Caravan Park offers a safe, convenient, and friendly place to rest.
Brewarrina is a town with a deep connection to the land and its people. By staying in town, you support the local community and give yourself the time to truly appreciate the ancient engineering of the Ngunnhu (Fish Traps) and the stories they hold.
