Binjour Range Rest Area – Reids Creek

The Binjour Range Rest Area is a popular and scenic free 20-hour stopover for travellers on the Burnett Highway in Queensland’s North Burnett region. Perched atop the Binjour Range between the historic towns of Gayndah and Mundubbera, this rest area is prized for its spectacular panoramic views over the surrounding rolling hills and fertile farmland. It offers a safe and convenient place to pull over, with a large, sealed area that provides ample space for a good number of vehicles, including large caravans and motorhomes. The main drawcard is the stunning vista, which is particularly beautiful at sunrise and sunset, making for a memorable overnight stay. The facilities are basic but well-maintained for a highway stop, typically including toilets and sheltered picnic tables, making it an ideal spot for a lunch break or a comfortable night’s rest. While it is a functional rest area, its elevated position and natural beauty set it apart from many other roadside stops. Its location makes it a perfect base for a short period, allowing easy access to explore the attractions of both Mundubbera, the ‘Citrus Capital of Queensland’, and Gayndah, Queensland’s oldest town. For those exploring this rich agricultural heartland, the Binjour Range Rest Area is a must-do stop for its incredible views and practical convenience.
